How care begins with Havilah Cottage

Every family starts in the same place: a conversation. Here is what happens from that first call onward, so you know what to expect before you decide anything.

  • Compassionate care
  • Personalized support
  • Respect
  • Trust

What to expect

Your care journey begins with a single phone call.

  1. Contact

You call 210-277-8888 or send a care request, and we listen to what your family needs. You do not need anything prepared. Tell us what is happening at home in your own words.

  2. Consultation

We meet with you and your loved one to understand their needs, preferences, routines, and goals. This is a conversation, not an interview. The more we understand about how your loved one likes their day to go, the better the support fits.

  3. Care planning

We create a personalized care plan based on the individual's needs and review it with the family before care begins. Nothing starts until you have seen the plan and agree it reflects what your loved one actually needs.

  4. Care begins

We match your loved one with a caregiver based on their needs, preferences, and care requirements. The first visits are about getting to know one another, so your loved one feels comfortable with the person coming into their home.

  5. Ongoing support

We stay connected with your family, review the care provided, and make adjustments as needs change. Needs rarely stay still, and the plan is meant to move with them. Tell us what is working and what is not.
